Rio Verde is an established active adult golf and lifestyle community of approximately 2,210 residents located northeast of Scottsdale near the Verde River. The member-owned community features two 18-hole golf courses, access to the Tonto National Forest, and proximity to McDowell Mountain Regional Park and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
Rio Verde residents lead some of the most active retirement lifestyles in the Valley. Playing 18 holes of golf multiple times per week involves hours of walking and standing in desert heat. Community activities, trail walks through the Tonto National Forest, and property maintenance add up. For active adults in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, the cumulative effect of decades of vein valve wear combined with heat exposure and sustained physical activity makes varicose veins increasingly likely. Based on national data, well over a quarter of Rio Verde residents in the typical age range may have visible varicose veins. If you notice leg fatigue after a round of golf, ankle swelling that worsens through the day, or visible veins appearing on your calves, a free vein evaluation can determine whether treatment would improve your comfort and activity level.
After treatment, Rio Verde residents return to the active lifestyle they enjoy:

Nighttime leg cramps can be caused by varicose veins, dehydration, mineral deficiencies, or muscle fatigue. When varicose veins are the cause, treating the underlying vein disease often reduces or eliminates the cramps. A vein evaluation can determine whether your cramps are related to vein disease.
Treated spider veins are permanently closed and do not return. However, new spider veins can develop over time if underlying risk factors persist. Regular follow-up evaluations help catch new veins early before they progress.
