Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that uses controlled heat energy to seal damaged veins from the inside. A thin catheter is inserted through a tiny incision, and radiofrequency energy heats the vein wall, causing it to close. The procedure takes about 20 minutes per leg.
